The Nuclear Medicine Scientist Embedded Student Program at Queensland X-Ray combines academic learning with practical training and paid employment, allowing students to work alongside experienced nuclear medicine scientists.

Additional information

  • Queensland X-Ray have multiple student Nuclear Medicine Technologist roles on offer for commencement in 2025. We invite applications from candidates who wish to enrol in the RMIT Embedded Student Model to study Medical Radiation Science: Nuclear Medicine.

    These roles will be offered on a paid, part-time basis for the duration of your course so you can earn whilst working toward achieving your bachelor degree and becoming a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

    Your training program will be structured to see you rotate through multiple medical imaging practices - both hospital departments and community-based settings - to allow for the best possible exposure to a wide variety of patient studies. You will be trained by highly skilled, experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists with an industry reputation for providing an exceptional, fully comprehensive experience across different skill sets.

  • You must be a domestic student interested in enrolling in the Bachelor of Medical Radiation (Nuclear Medicine) at RMIT and live in Queensland.

    Please be aware of RMIT's prerequisites for this course. These differ depending on your application type based on the level of education you have completed. In particular, applicants must meet the vaccination requirements listed in the additional information section on the RMIT website. Please click here to visit the RMIT website for more details. 

    We will attempt to place all applicants but only have a limited number of embedded student program placements on offer. If you are not successful, or you are not a domestic student, we still encourage you to apply to become a Nuclear Medicine Scientist through the standard university application process.
