We are so proud to announce the opening of our Cairns PET/CT Centre at 318 Mulgrave Road, Westcourt. In 2009 Queensland X-Ray installed the first private PET/CT in the southern hemisphere and since then has continued that commitment to deliver this specialised service to our patients locally in Cairns.
PET/CT is fundamental in a cancer patient’s journey and patients who previously had to travel long distances to access this service, now have it at their doorstep. Not all PET/CT scans are for cancer however. Increasingly we perform scans to assess brain function and even to locate infections of unknown origin.
We have invested in medical services in Cairns for over 20 years and that commitment remains strong. The introduction of PET/CT in the Cairns region demonstrates how serious we are about delivering superior patient outcomes across all of our locations.
