Meet Charlene, one of our dedicated radiographers at Queensland X-Ray. Charlene plays an important role in mentoring new radiographers and fostering a culture of continuous growth and learning.
She said, “I find it very rewarding to be able to share my skills and advice with new graduates. I always speak to them and check in on how they are feeling after they have been exposed to a new situation or learning a new skill. Spending the extra time to talk to them definitely makes a difference to make them feel valued and heard.”
As our 2025 Graduate Radiographers begin their journey with us, Charlene offers the following advice to the new cohort: “Don’t be afraid to ask questions or try new things!”
Queensland X-Ray is committed to creating a supportive and open learning environment. With mentors like Charlene, our graduates are provided with the guidance they need to develop their skills, achieve their goals, and grow in their careers.
Last month, we welcomed over 40 graduate radiographers to Queensland X-Ray, during a two-day orientation, designed to prepare them for a successful year ahead. The Graduate Radiographer Program at Queensland X-Ray focuses on professional development and mentorship. Graduates receive dedicated support and gain early exposure to advanced modalities and procedures in their careers.
Graduates rotate through different practices, experiencing both community and hospital settings and service patients across Queensland, from Cairns to the Gold Coast, including Toowoomba and the Redlands.
Applications for our 2026 Graduate Radiographer Program open in August. For more information, click here.
I find it very rewarding when I can see graduates become more confident in their own skills as they navigate different challenges.
