Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation supports and funds Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, and its vital work of treating, rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife. The Hospital has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, admitting over 11,000 animals a year – a service that is provided free of charge to the community. A visit to the Sanctuary is not complete without a visit to the hospital where you can witness the amazing team operate on sick and injured animals.
Queensland X-Ray have had a longstanding relationship with the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital on the Gold Coast, of which we are very proud. We have donated many different pieces of medical equipment over the years, including:
- Multi-plate Fuji CR to replace old film system
- Full; PACS system with software provided by Voyager
- Work station for PACS
- Lead glass for operators area
- Philips IU22 ultrasound unit with four probes
- Hockey stick probe for use with koalas
- Mammography unit to visualise fine fractures in lizards and for birds wings
In 2019, Queensland X-Ray also supported the Currumbin Hospital Under the Stars Benefit, through the donation of our Mammography artwork, which remains exclusive to Queensland X-Ray practices. The donation was included in the silent auction, helping to raise much needed funds for the continuing operation of the hospital.
