We think these words from Mandy Adams, Chairman of SWTQ encapsulate our partnership nicely:
“South West Qld Thunder FC competes in the elite National Premier League (NPL) competition against other representative Clubs throughout Queensland.
We have three separate licenses allowing us to compete at junior level with the SAP – Skills Acquisition Program for ages 8 to u12 – the Womens program, NPLW – and the Mens program, NPL – which covers age groups from u13 to Open Senior Mens teams.
Passionate football (soccer) players from Clubs all around the Darling Downs make up the teams who travel to train 3 times a week, and then play each weekend against other Clubs from South East Qld, primarily in Brisbane, Ipswich and at the Sunshine & Gold Coasts.
At a junior level our focus is on ensuring we develop as many players as possible to their maximum potential, thereby ensuring that when they move on to the Senior Level they have all the skills, the fitness, physical strength, dedication and opportunity necessary to be an asset to Senior Teams. From a Senior Team perspective, the level of competition is increased and our players passions to move into higher level professional teams can gather momentum.
Allowing our Club to partner with health professionals has been a success story in the past few years – firstly to educate and support our players with improved information about the demands of physical intensity and constant training, and access to people who know how to guide, heal and monitor ongoing medical issues. In this we proudly connect with Queensland X-Ray to ensure our players are given the best possible solutions to maintaining peak health and performance.
We are pleased to continue this partnership and recommend the extensive services offered by Queensland X-ray to our Members and Players.”
