The Gold Coast Dolphins Cricket Club was established in 1990 to provide a pathway for local cricket talent to play for Queensland and Australia.
Since that time the club has become a powerhouse in Queensland Premier Cricket having won a total of 3 First Grade 2 day premierships and are currently Premiers in QCA First and Second Grade One Day Competitions, First Grade T20 competition and Third Grade 2 day competition and are in the final of the upcoming Lord Taverner's U16's competition.
The club has become a nursery for producing both Queensland and Australian representative players including current Australian players Michael Neser and Georgia Redmayne and previously Andrew Symonds, Scott Muller, Craig McDermott and Dellissa Kimmence. Our current Queensland representatives and Brisbane Heat players are Matthew Kuhnemann, Max Bryant and Xavier Bartlett and Josh Kann for the Hobart Hurricanes. We also have current Australian Women's team Coach Matthew Mott and ICC International Umpire Bruce Oxenford as past club players.
The club continues to aspire to its mission statement "Provide the opportunity for any cricketer in the Gold Coast and Tweed Districts to compete in the highest level of cricket for which he or she is capable of playing." The sponsorship from Queensland X-ray will be helping towards the clubs inaugural Academy Programs for our U16's-U18's age groups. These high performance programs will give players access to elite specialist coaches and health professionals such as Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Sports Dietitians and Sports Psychologists and leadership training.
The partnership with Queensland X-ray is also beneficial for our players to have early access to imaging for injury assessments, in particular, 3T MRI imaging for the detection of lumbar stress related injuries or stress fractures in our fast bowlers.
Queensland X-ray's support of the club as a Gold sponsor demonstrates its ongoing support of sporting pathways, player welfare and local community sport.
